Delegates shifting to Kamala Harris already

When President Biden dropped out of the 2024 race earlier today and endorsed Kamala Harris for President, several Democratic leaders followed Biden’s lead in endorsing Harris. Now that the party is united behind her, she’s making a move for the delegates – and getting them.

There’s a call going on right now, and one state – Tennessee – has already pledged its delegates to Kamala Harris, per Reuters. More states are about to follow. Why is this important? Since Harris was already on the Biden-Harris ticket that won the delegates to begin with, it’s an easy transition to shift the delegates to Harris. This will allow the Democrats to present a united front behind Kamala Harris heading into Monday morning’s news cycle.
