Donald Trump goes completely off the deep end about Robert Mueller

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When the week began, Donald Trump and his newly handpicked Attorney General William Barr were trying to sell us on the notion that Barr’s silly four page pro-Trump “summary” of the Mueller report meant we didn’t need to see anything in the actual Mueller report. As the week ends, that attempted coverup is rapidly falling apart. Barr is now trying to incrementally backpedal, even as Trump simply goes berserk about it.

Here’s what Donald Trump had to say about Robert Mueller this evening: “Robert Mueller was a Hero to the Radical Left Democrats, until he ruled that there was No Collusion with Russia (so ridiculous to even say!). After more than two years since the “insurance policy” statement was made by a dirty cop, I got the answers I wanted, the Truth. The problem is, no matter what the Radical Left Democrats get, no matter what we give them, it will never be enough. Just watch, they will Harass & Complain & Resist (the theme of their movement). So maybe we should just take our victory and say NO, we’ve got a Country to run!” There are obviously a couple of problems here.

First, when Trump says things like “so ridiculous to even say,” he sounds like a teenager who has falsified a report card and is now trying to spin it after having gotten caught. Second, when he says things like “So maybe we should just take our victory and say NO,” he’s obviously making direct threats against the rule of law and the American democracy, but he’s also revealing just how scared he is of the Mueller report becoming public.

It’s only been five days since William Barr tried to bury the Mueller report with his laugh-out-loud phony summary, and Donald Trump is already expressing thinly veiled fear that the report is going to come out despite his team’s best efforts. By the time we reach the April 2nd deadline that House Democrats have given Barr to turn over the full report under threat of subpoena, Trump’s behavior will likely be even further off the deep end.
