That’s what Donald Trump gets for messing with Debra Messing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you’re donating to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, you’re funding the murder of immigrant children, and you’re funding white supremacist domestic terrorism against the United States. Accordingly, there has been increasing public focus on Trump’s biggest 2020 fundraisers and donors. This led actress and activist Debra Messing to put a spotlight on Trump’s Beverly Hills fundraiser.

Donald Trump didn’t like this very much, but as is increasingly the case these days, he had no idea how to fight back against it. So instead he simply posted this bizarre tweet about a story which could be true, or given his track record of lying, could simply be made up:

I have not forgotten that when it was announced that I was going to do The Apprentice, and when it then became a big hit, helping NBC’s failed lineup greatly, @DebraMessing came up to me at an Upfront & profusely thanked me, even calling me “Sir.” How times have changed!

But Donald Trump made a mistake steering so much of the public’s focus toward Debra Messing’s Twitter account, because she promptly used that attention to make a push for more effective gun control laws. Messing’s name was trending atop Twitter for much of the morning, and when people clicked on it to see what the fuss was all about, they got a lesson in why we need gun reform. That’s what Trump gets for messing with Debra Messing.
