Dean Phillips has a real problem

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. House Democrat Dean Phillips has made the bizarre decision to retire from Congress and run for President of the United States in the 2024 Democratic primary. This is absurd given that 1) most people don’t know he exists, and 2) he claims to be doing this for the benefit of the Democratic Party even though it can only really cause divisiveness.

The good news is that Dean Phillips doesn’t appear capable of having any impact of any kind. For instance, this morning he posted this cheesy tweet: “Good morning, everybody! It’s time for some coffee and Fifdean Minutes. I’m here to answer your questions.”

Fifdean? Really? Who writes this crap? In any case, many of the questions he got were basically just asking him to drop out. So that went poorly for him. I ended up replying to Phillips and posting this:

“Okay Dean Phillips, you say Biden’s numbers aren’t good enough, but instead of helping Biden boost his numbers, you plan to spend the primary season bashing Biden which could hurt his numbers. You wanted me to ask you a question, so here it is: what the hell is wrong with you?”

My negative reply to Phillips ended up getting more likes in seven minutes than Phillips’ original tweet had gotten in seven hours. In other words, among the few people who even know or care who Phillips is, most of them have a negative opinion of him. That’s a real problem for him. He’s not going to find any support base anywhere. Dean Phillips should drop out now and apologize for this stunt before his reputation is completely destroyed.
