Donald Trump’s day from hell
It’s entirely possible that we’ll eventually look back at today as the day when Donald Trump’s presidency effectively ended. The simple laws of physics say that a sufficient amount of pressure can knock down anything; it’s just a matter of whether the pressure can ever actually get that powerful. Trump is now fully wilting under that pressure.
The stock market fell an astounding three thousand points today, and that may not even be the worst of it. The U.S. coronavirus infection rate, and the U.S. death toll, both continued to rise. It’s clear now that Donald Trump’s deranged bungling of the crisis has put America on a dark path that could have been been largely avoided if we had a real President.
At this point Governors and Mayors are effectively taking over the country, as they each plot their own coronavirus response path, while essentially ignoring Donald Trump as if he didn’t exist. They might as well, considering Trump told them this morning that they were on their own.
How is Donald Trump going to survive this? He clearly doesn’t know. Everything he touches turns to crap. When he’s ignored the coronavirus, or called it a hoax, he’s made it worse. When he’s tried to step in and do something, he’s made it worse. The United States has no President – just a squatter in the White House who seems to be running out of ideas for how to keep himself there.
