David Pecker just delivered a gut punch to Donald Trump
We may well end up seeing even more pivotal witnesses in Donald Trump’s criminal trial, but thus far the first witness – former National Enquirer boss David Pecker – is burying Trump all on his own. Pecker just dropped another legal bombshell on Trump during his testimony today.
Pecker revealed that after he and Trump conspired to buy Karen McDougal’s story and bury it, Pecker consulted with his own lawyers and concluded that the scheme was illegal. Pecker then informed Michael Cohen that he wanted out of the deal, which prompted Cohen to announce that Trump would be very angry.
Keep in mind that Michael Cohen is going to corroborate all of this when he takes the stand. So now we’re going to have Pecker and Cohen both testifying that after Pecker learned that the Trump-Pecker election conspiracy was illegal, Trump wanted to keep it going anyway. This kind of thing is how you get convicted.
