“Dammit Rudy!”
The hits just keep coming against Rudy Giuliani. On Thursday night, the Feds at the SDNY leaked that their criminal case against Giuliani is broader and more advanced than previously let on. On Friday morning, Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch laid into Giuliani during her televised testimony. Then on Friday night, the State Department’s David Holmes testified behind closed doors – and let’s just say that it’s not good for Rudy either.
According to David Holmes’ leaked opening statement, he was with Gordon Sondland when he overheard both ends of a phone conversation between Sondland and Donald Trump. This conversation, and Holmes’ subsequent exchange with Sondland, make abundantly clear that Trump’s only interest was in forcing Ukraine to promote the fake Biden scandal, and that he didn’t care about the fate of Ukraine at all.
This is obviously going to give some additional juice to the televised impeachment testimony that Gordon Sondland is set to give this upcoming week, as he’ll have to spill his guts about his every interaction with Donald Trump if he wants to avoid being charged with perjury for the initial lies he told under oath. It looks like Sondland is going to be asked about something he said about Rudy Giuliani as well.
According to CNN, David Holmes’ opening statement included this Gordon Sondland quote: “Dammit Rudy. Every time Rudy gets involved he goes and f—s everything up.” It’s clear that Sondland felt all along that Giuliani was the problem. We can expect Sondland to be asked about this, and to expand upon it, during his televised testimony.
