Even the Dalai Lama has had enough of Donald Trump’s crap
Donald Trump, his allies, and his supporters have always represented the bottom rung of the humanity scale. People of decency around the world have routinely condemned Trump and his toxic waste dump of a political movement. But you’ve got to be aiming really low for the Dalai Lama to come out swinging at you.
Sure enough, the Dalai Lama decided to rip Donald Trump to shreds today. He said this of Trump’s lack of character: “one day he says something, another day he says something, but I think lack of moral principle.” He also took specific aim at Trump’s political agenda, saying that when he “became president he expressed America first. That is wrong.”
This Dalai Lama has been known to say some eyebrow raising things in general, in contrast with some of his predecessors. But it’s notable that he’s making a point of condemning the President of the United States, a reminder that Donald Trump has erased all of the respect and reverence that the office once held worldwide.
It’s also notable that the Dalai Lama knows Donald Trump is likely to fire back in particularly depraved fashion. Then again, we suppose the Dalai Lama is too busy doing his job to bother checking Twitter all day, like Trump does.
