DA says indictments are now “imminent” in Fulton County criminal probe against Donald Trump
When the Fulton County special grand jury concluded its work two weeks ago, all kinds of media and pundit hype surfaced about whether or not its final report would be publicly released. Palmer Report said this was just a red herring, because this isn’t about some report, it’s about imminent criminal indictments.
Sure enough, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis asked the court today not to release the special grand jury report yet, because she said it wouldn’t be fair to “future defendants.” In other words, people are definitely getting indicted. She also added that charging decisions were “imminent” – which means indictments are imminently coming down.
This doesn’t guarantee that she’ll indict Donald Trump. But she’s now made clear that people are being indicted, and it’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which she indicts Trump’s co-conspirators without also indicting Trump. So now we wait to find out what DA Willis’ definition of “imminent” is. Trump has got to be quaking in his boots. Weeks ago it was clear that we were likely just weeks away from Trump being indicted, and now it’s upon us.
