Crucial win for Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Despite Republicans usually ignoring anything to do with the cost of childcare, if not directly forcing the costs of it to go up through the draconian policies they like to push for – they’ve spent the last week or so ranting about the current shortage of baby formula. They also haven’t been particularly shy about showing off their racist credentials to do it either – trying to turn this into a story about how the children of migrants on the border were given baby formula that American children deserved.

Like many of their other idiotic talking points, however, this one is about to go up in smoke, as President Biden reached an agreement on Monday with Abbott, one of the largest makers of infant formula in the US. By the middle of the summer, the shortage will no longer be an issue, with production resumed and the new products reaching store shelves.

This is a pretty crucial win for the Biden administration, while the GOP will then have to be forced to figure out some other way to convey their bigotry to voters. The trouble is that in the wake of the Buffalo shooting, a great deal of the media is talking more and more about their Replacement Theory nonsense, which is far more idiotic and dangerous than their CRT boogeyman ever was.

The racist massacre in Buffalo was just one instance over the course of one weekend, in which right-wingers took the GOP’s rhetoric too far and acted on it. Instead of toning down, they’re doing everything they can to appeal to the white nationalists in their base whose votes they’ll need in November. If ever there was a time to highlight the differences between Democrats and Republicans in power this is it – and it’s why we need to do everything we can to keep Republicans from gaining power again.
