Crime and punishment

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If one does the crime, one must do time. Crime is illegal in our country. And if one is caught committing a crime, one will be judged — sometimes harshly — for it. Trump was impeached twice. There is no doubt that he committed high crimes and misdemeanors. And there is no doubt that some of his cult members have also committed crimes on January 6, the day of the insurrection.

We know this because they have been judged and been found guilty. And now, some of them have been sent to prison as a result of these horrific crimes. This is a good thing. Justice worked as it was supposed to.

But now Donald Trump, the king of crimes and misdemeanors, is demanding their release. On Friday, Trump took to truth social and actually had the unmitigated gall to call for their release. “Let them all go now!!” the traitor demanded. Trump said the criminals were not being treated “fairly.”

That’s a laugh. The fact is these people are INSURRECTIONISTS. And Trump can cry me a river on his little toy, but these people are not going to be released until they serve out their sentences. More than 900 people have been charged so far. That number will likely grow. And soon, Trump will perhaps be joining them.
