Donald Trump cries like a baby after he figures out Republicans aren’t going to save him

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.

In the weeks since the House impeachment inquiry started, all eyes have been on Senate Republicans for any signs that they might actually consider ousting him. The only way they’ll do it is if pro-impeachment poll numbers climb so high, they selfishly conclude that they have to oust Trump in order to protect their own personal reelection prospects. You’d think Trump would understand this.

Senate Republicans now wake up every day and check the latest impeachment polling numbers before deciding how to approach Donald Trump that day. If Trump wanted to give these Republicans a reason to stick with him as long as possible, he’d try behaving in a way that might cause impeachment polls to shift in his favor. Instead he’s trying stunts like having Mick Mulvaney arrogantly confess Trump’s guilt in the Ukraine scandal, and the G7 Doral grift, that threaten to convince even more Americans that he needs to be ousted.

Over the past few days we’ve seen a surprising number of Republicans in Congress speak out against Donald Trump’s escalating antics. The number of Republicans speaking up is still shameful low – but it’s now high enough that Trump has to worry about it. Yet even as Trump keeps handing House and Senate Republicans new reasons to distance themselves from him, he’s growing visibly upset that they’re not joining him in his increasingly deranged antics.

At the end of a fictional and largely incoherent Twitter rant this evening, Donald Trump began crying like a baby: “When do the Do Nothing Democrats pay a price for what they are doing to our Country, & when do the Republicans finally fight back?” It looks like he’s finally figuring out that there’s no GOP cavalry magically coming to stop his downward slide, and that the Republicans in Congress each care far more about their own fate than they do about his.
