Donald Trump retakes the wheel of the crazy train and screws up even worse than Rudy Giuliani
Over the weekend, Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani tried a bit of role reversal. Trump, who has spent the past year loudly running his mouth in self incriminating fashion, went quiet on Twitter. Giuliani, who spent the past year laying low, was suddenly very loudly incriminating Trump instead. This morning, Trump apparently got tired of the arrangement, and decided to retake the wheel of the crazy train. Suffice it to say that it didn’t go well.
Trump posted several frantic and stupid tweets this morning, but two stand out in particular. Here’s the first: “The Russia Witch Hunt is rapidly losing credibility. House Intelligence Committee found No Collusion, Coordination or anything else with Russia. So now the Probe says OK, what else is there? How about Obstruction for a made up, phony crime. There is no O, it’s called Fighting Back.” By admitting that several of his actions have been an attempt at “fighting back” against the investigation, Trump just confessed to felony obstruction of justice whether he thinks he did or not. It gets worse.
We’re still trying to parse this tweet: “The 13 Angry Democrats in charge of the Russian Witch Hunt are starting to find out that there is a Court System in place that actually protects people from injustice…and just wait ‘till the Courts get to see your unrevealed Conflicts of Interest!” Let’s see here. The investigation is not being run by Democrats, there aren’t thirteen people running it, the court system has not actually ruled in favor of his side, his new attorney is a senile vampire, his old attorney is about to be arrested, and that’s not how you spell “til.”
Donald Trump has been back on Twitter for just a few hours and he’s already confessed to a felony while making things up and rambling incoherently. It’s as if Trump’s tweets briefly came to life in the form of Rudy Giuliani over the weekend, and now he’s back to doing his own gibberish self incrimination.
