Donald Trump goes off the rails on a crazy train

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night ten of the Democratic candidates for president took the stage for the first night of the first 2020 primary debate. Some of them sounded presidential and some of them didn’t, but they all came off as far more presidential than Donald Trump. That was a sentiment that Trump unwittingly echoed when he idiotically tweeted “BORING!” during one of the more substantive segments of the debate. But then came this morning.

Trump is particularly obsessed with the fact that the sound system briefly failed during last night’s debate, forcing an unplanned commercial break. To that end, this morning Trump posted a bizarre video which depicted him entering the debate during the sound problem, to the tune of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train.”

No, really, Trump posted this. It’s not clear why he thought that he was making himself look good by attaching himself to the lyrics “going off the rails on a crazy train.” But it is clear that Trump is reduced to delusional fantasies, as a way of trying to convince himself that these far superior Democratic candidates – most of whom are walloping him in the polls – aren’t really a threat.
