Congresswoman Katie Porter quarantined with coronavirus-like symptoms

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

First time Congresswoman Katie Porter has routinely proved herself as a smart and savvy corruption fighter. Now it turns out, unfortunately, she’s being forced to take on a new fight. Porter just revealed that she’s now quarantined with coronavirus-like symptoms:

Last week, I developed cold-like symptoms followed by fatigue. I stayed home and spoke to my healthcare provider. Over the weekend, I had a fever over 100.4 degrees. As instructed, I continued to isolate in my bedroom and phoned my provider. I carefully followed all instructions to visit my doctor and received a test for COVID-19. I am waiting for results. I will remain in self-quarantine until I have the test results back and until directed by my doctor that it is safe for me to leave my home. I am participating by telephone in Congressional business and listening to the concerns of our Orange County community.

Two other House members, Democrat Ben McAdams and Republican Mario Diaz-Balart, have already tested positive for coronavirus. Senator Rand Paul has also tested positive. Multiple other Senators are in isolation after having come into contact with Paul. It’s not yet clear if they each acquired it separately, or if there’s an outbreak in Congress. We wish all of them the best in their recoveries.
