Congressional Republicans just gave away that they now fear the DOJ will criminally charge Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Congressional Republicans are now publicly threatening the DOJ with consequences if it prosecutes Donald Trump. This means Republicans are now afraid the DOJ will end up prosecuting Trump. Clearly they understand what a big deal Roger Stone’s driver’s cooperating plea deal is. The odds of the DOJ charging Trump keep going up.

The media and pundits will spin this news negatively, of course. That’s where the ratings are. They’ll lament about the Republicans even making such a threat, and they’ll baselessly suggest that the DOJ has decided not to indict Trump out of fear of Republican reprisal.

Meanwhile back in the real world, the Stone driver plea deal (on seditious conspiracy, no less) is the first proof that the DOJ intends to take down Trump’s top people for 1/6. There have long been breadcrumbs to suggest the DOJ was going this direction, but now it’s 100% clear.

Now that Stone’s driver has flipped on him, if this prompts Stone to flip, then the DOJ has Trump nailed. Stone knows 40 years of Trump’s secrets, and would need to give them all up to get a cooperation deal. The GOP knows this, and is now making panic threats as a result.

Republicans were always going to threaten the DOJ about charging Trump, if they ever began to fear it was going to happen. That’s baked in. The fact that they’re now making that threat, is actually very good news, because it now means they think Trump will end up charged.

It won’t happen tomorrow or next week, of course. The driver’s plea deal is brand new. The DOJ now has to build a strong enough case against Stone to convince him he’s nailed, so he’ll decide to flip. That will all take time. But there’s a clear path now, and the GOP knows it.

None of this is difficult to follow or understand, unless you’re blinded by having “DOJ will never charge Trump no matter what” drilled into your head every day by pundits who keep baselessly saying it because they want the ratings and retweets that come with doomsday outrage.
