Confirmed: some attendees had their way paid to attend Donald Trump’s White House event today

Donald Trump is clearly still sick and contagious with coronavirus, to the point that he was sporting a freshly bandaged hand when he stepped onto the White House balcony to deliver his speech today. So why would anyone be willing to risk their life just to attend?

It turns out at least part of the answer is money. Trump surrogate Candace Owens, who has previously made positive remarks about Adolf Hitler, paid the travel and lodging costs of some attendees at Trump’s event today. This is according to ABC News, which says it obtained emails proving as much.

Giving people a free trip isn’t the same thing as outright paying them to show up – but it’s close. It’s the latest reminder that Donald Trump is having more trouble drawing a crowd than ever. That’s due to the pandemic, and the fact that people are just tired of this clown’s antics.
