Coming soon to a television near you
It was all consuming. The whole country was focused on it with more than a little bit of hysteria. I’ve got to get home from work and watch, one woman said. Actually many were impatiently running to their TV screens to view the show — the political show.
So they watched all right, everywhere people breathlessly tuned in to see the spectacle that was Watergate. It was all anybody could talk about. I was just a child myself but I tuned in. My parents could speak of little else.
The whole nation watched, mesmerized as more and more damaging information about President Nixon came out, and his poll numbers began to fall accordingly. It was like a fever sweeping the nation. But I’ll tell you something. That fever is about to hit again and it will be coming to a TV set near you — because if you think Watergate was something you ain’t seen nothing yet.
By the time Nixon made his “I am not a crook” speech, the nation was at a fever pitch. TV ratings skyrocketed as over 110 Million people tuned in to watch that resignation. speech. I predict that those numbers will be even higher for Donald Trump‘s Georgia court trial.
It is going to be televised. The judge said so. It is allowed to be televised because Trump has been indicted on state charges, not federal. And yes, the show we are about to witness is going to make Watergate look like the Brady Bunch.
Millions upon millions will tune in and not just in America. People will be watching from all over the world. Trump will finally have the biggest crowds ever. I predict few will be able to resist watching this reality TV show where an orange trailer finally gets what’s coming to him. It is going to be the biggest, craziest most insane political theater that we’ve ever seen.
