Come on mainstream media, get your act together on this Donald Trump “campaign” story
So much of the mainstream media is still acting confused about why Trump is dining with a white supremacist: “How could this be part of his 2024 campaign strategy?” If the media would admit he’s not actually running, and that he’s instead just grifting by pandering to the far right so he can raise money ahead of his impending criminal indictment, they wouldn’t have to act confused.
Nick Fuentes is the kind of uniquely radioactive figure that even Trump would be keeping his distance from if he were actually trying to run for President. But when you’re only pretending to run, you don’t have to worry about damaging your chances of winning.
There are always going to be con artists who pre-announce faux-presidential campaigns for nefarious reasons, knowing full well that by the time we get to that next election, they’ll be nowhere near it. It’s the job of the media to factually call these types out – not go along with the ruse because it’s good for ratings and page views, and then pretend to be confused as to why the “candidate” is doing things that no candidate would ever do.
