Rudy Giuliani has bizarre meltdown about Donald Trump on CNN

The heightening feud between Donald Trump and Omarosa is a matter of two known liars making ugly accusations about each other. The trouble for Trump is that Omarosa has published secret recordings that prove at least some of her claims about Trump, and she appears to be sitting on even more of these kinds of recordings. Trump’s deranged meltdown about Omarosa on Twitter didn’t help his case, so he sent his lawyer Rudy Giuliani – another known liar – on CNN to try to clean things up. It didn’t go well.

Omarosa’s latest claim is that Donald Trump knew that the Russians had hacked and stolen Democratic Party emails before they were released to the public. If this can be proven, it’ll mean that Trump was engaging in a criminal conspiracy against the United States with Russia. Omarosa has not made any indication that she has recordings to prove this particular claim. However, she is claiming that she’s been interviewed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller about the matter. So how is Rudy trying to handle this?

Giuliani appeared on CNN with host Chris Cuomo, and claimed that he knows Omarosa is lying about this. His explanation: “I was on the campaign more than she was. I was closer to [Trump] more than she was. From about June to November, I was with him twenty-four hours a day.” To be clear, this is a blatant lie; he was with the campaign, but he was not a 24/7 chaperone. He nonetheless continued: “The first WikiLeaks explosion, [Trump] was completely surprised.” This of course tells us nothing. Even if Rudy is telling the truth about this aspect, Trump could easily have been feigning his surprise in order to keep his circle of co-conspirators smaller.

Cuomo then pointed out that Donald Trump had promised he was going to hire only the best people for the White House, but ended up hiring Omarosa instead, whom Trump now admits was never qualified or suitable for the job. In response, Rudy Giuliani’s eyes bugged out of his head. He refused to answer whether it would be a problem for Trump if Omarosa did have a tape of him conspiring with the Russians. When Cuomo called him out for pushing other hypotheticals left and right, Rudy admitted “I know that confuses the hell out of people.” Strangely, Rudy sounded like he had a mouth full of cotton the entire time. Something isn’t right here.
