CNN president rips into Donald Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders after bomb attacks

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In the hours since a bomber targeted Barack and Michelle Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton, and several other prominent Democratic political figures, the response out of Donald Trump’s White House has been lackluster at best. Trump simply retweeted Mike Pence, and then gave a generic speech which didn’t impress anyone. This comes after Trump and his regime have spent years trying to incite violence against journalists and rival politicians.

One of today’s targets was the CNN building in New York City, as the bomber mistakenly thought that former CIA Director John Brennan works there (he actually works for MSNBC). This prompted the evacuation of the entire building and surroundings, and left CNN reporters broadcasting from the street for several hours. CNN President Jeff Zucker publicly ripped into the Trump administration.

Zucker issued this statement through the official CNN Communications account on Twitter: “There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media. The President, and especially the White House Press Secretary [Sarah Huckabee Sanders], should understand their words matter. Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that.”
