Desperate Donald Trump just committed treason by calling for “Civil War” if he’s impeached and ousted
Earlier this evening Donald Trump hopped on Twitter and demanded to meet with the whistleblower while threatening “big consequences” against those who gave information to the whistleblower, in a clear cut instance of felony witness intimidation. As the evening has gone on, Trump’s tweets have taken an even darker turn.
Just now Donald Trump tweeted a lengthy quote from Fox News stooge and fake preacher Robert Jeffress. The end of the quote went like this: “If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.”
Let’s be clear here. The term “Civil War” – particularly when properly capitalized like this – isn’t some metaphorical reference. He’s talking about the actual Civil War, in which the confederacy committed violent treason against the United States. That’s what Donald Trump is embracing here, and he’s doing it in exact words.
We think that once Donald Trump is gone from office, his supporters – most of whom are loud and belligerent cowards – will merely go hide under a rock for a generation. But that doesn’t mitigate the fact that Trump just called for them to take up arms against the United States if the impeachment process does lead to his ouster. Trump really is trying to get himself indicted for treason, isn’t he?
