Former CIA Director slam dunks Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This morning Donald Trump revealed that he’s deeply afraid of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, a popular nonpartisan figure who’s worked for too many U.S. Presidents to count. By the time Trump was done falsely accusing Clapper of a crime, other prominent figures were stepping forward to slam Trump over it – among them, former CIA Director John Brennan.

John Brennan worked under James Clapper for years, and is in a strong position to evaluate his integrity. This morning Trump falsely accused Clapper of having leaked Trump-Russia information to CNN and having lied about it. Trump gave away in his tweet that he was merely parroting something he heard on Fox News this morning, and suffice it to say that it didn’t go over particularly well.

Brennan tweeted this: “Mr. Trump: Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. Jim Clapper is a man of integrity, honesty, ethics, & morality. You are not. Jim Clapper served his country for over a half century, including in Vietnam. You did not. By your words & behavior, you diminish the Office of the Presidency.”

John Brennan served in the U.S. intelligence community for decades, working under U.S. Presidents of both parties. James Clapper served under every U.S. President, in a military or civilian capacity, from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama. Clapper fought in Vietnam, where he earned two Bronze Stars. Donald Trump faked a foot injury in order to obtain five fraudulent medical deferments so he could dodge the Vietnam war draft.
