Donald Trump falls to pieces during Sunday morning interview with Chris Wallace

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When it was announced earlier this week that Donald Trump was going to sit down for an interview with Chris Wallace, Palmer Report said it was a big mistake on Trump’s part. Sure, Fox News is a joke overall. But Wallace is the one real journalist on the network, and he’s a notoriously tough interviewer. Sure enough, the interview aired this morning, and things went horribly for Trump.

There were so many places in this interview where Chris Wallace bulldozed Donald Trump, or Trump fell down of his own accord, we’re not even sure where to start. For instance, at one point Wallace announced a Fox News poll which showed that Americans think Joe Biden is far more mentally sound than Trump is.

This prompted Trump to talk about the cognitive exam he “aced.” Wallace then held up the exam and pointed out that one of the questions is whether you can identify a picture of an elephant. Trump insisted there were tougher questions at the end. Wallace then revealed that he took the test himself, and the toughest question involving counting backward from 100 by 7. Wallace then very quietly muttered “93… 86…” while Trump stewed.

At another point Chris Wallace called out Donald Trump on his failed pandemic response. Trump insisted that coronavirus cases are only up because testing is up. Wallace pointed out that testing is up 37% but cases are up 194%. This was the interview of Wallace’s career, and he seemed to know it, and he aced it. Trump, on the other hand, just humiliated himself in front of his own Fox News fans, and probably knocked another point or two off his sinking approval rating.
