Chris Wallace throws up his hands
Chris Wallace announced on-air today that he’s immediately leaving Fox News. He didn’t cite any specific reasons; he simply said he wants to move onto an unnamed new venture that goes beyond politics.
We have no way of knowing, for now at least, whether Wallace’s departure is related to the increasingly deranged behavior of other Fox News hosts like Tucker Carlson – which Wallace reportedly objected to behind the scenes – or if it was just Wallace’s time.
In any case, Chris Wallace was the only honest one left at Fox News. And he was, by default, giving cover to the other Fox News hosts as they filled the rest of the day with nonstop lies. Now they’ve lost that cover. Fox News can no longer pretend to be even vaguely real.
