So much for Donald Trump’s new White House Chief of Staff

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Just a few days ago, Donald Trump announced via tweet that he was ousting his Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, and replacing him with GOP Congressman Mark Meadows. We’re not sure when Meadows was supposed to show up and start doing the job, but now it turns out he won’t be showing up for awhile.

As of this evening, CNN is reporting that Mark Meadows is under quarantine for coronavirus exposure. He’ll remain that way through at least Wednesday. What’s interesting here is that Meadows says he has no symptoms, and he’s been tested and it’s come back negative. But the CDC website says that if you’re tested while you have no symptoms, it can come back negative even if you have the coronavirus. So Meadows could still have the virus, and he won’t know for sure until he makes it past the fourteen day exposure period on Wednesday with no symptoms.

So now we have Donald Trump, his new White House Chief of Staff, and several of his Republican House and Senate allies all potentially exposed to the coronavirus. Most of them are doing the right thing by quarantining themselves. The exceptions thus far are Trump and Louis Gohmert, who are refusing to isolate themselves, and are thus potentially putting people’s lives at risk.
