Chaos and lies

Vote Republican if you like chaos and lies. They have done absolutely nothing with their majority in the House. They’re too busy investigating investigations and telling fairy tales. The latest lie comes courtesy of Donald Trump, who claimed that relief funds for Hurricane Helene have been diverted to migrants. Do they honestly think people are so paranoid about migrants that they would believe this nonsense? Trump, of course, tells these lies at his rallies (that people are still walking out on). On Sunday, he told the people of Juneau, WI that “as the flood waters were rising, President Joe Biden’s administration ‘was gone’ and that survivors haven’t seen ‘anybody from the federal government yet.’” This is a blatant lie. Both Biden and Harris have visited sites devastated by Helene, and the Independent reported there are almost 7,000 federal personnel on the ground.

Trump told supporters in Butler, PA that the government was giving them $750 while sending millions to foreign countries. This is also a lie. Survivors get $750 upon applying for Serious Needs Assistance, which covers immediate needs such as food, water, baby formula, and medication. As the Independent reported, the government has already spent more than $137 million in aid to survivors. Mike Johnson, who has been spreading these lies as well, has refused to call Congress back to vote on aid for hurricane victims. Keep voting for Republicans, and you will be left with nothing. Unfortunately, you’ll take the rest of us who know better with you. If they can’t even understand something this simple, they will never understand the potential ramifications of a second Trump presidency.

Experts believe, according to AP, that the national debt could increase under Vice President Kamala Harris’s leadership; however, it will “surge” under Trump. These analyses came from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (“CRFB”), which is a nonpartisan outfit. Under their analysis, Harris’s presidency could add $3.5 trillion to the national debt over 10 years. Of course, Harris wants to make corporations, and the rich pay their fair share to offset the costs of her programs. Trump obviously has no plans for his costly programs, especially since he has talked about his intent to give corporations yet another tax break (and the wealthy as well). CRFB believes that Trump will add as little as $7.5 trillion to the debt and as much as $15.2 trillion. Trump claims that because growth will be so great under his presidency that “no one needs to worry about deficits.” You’ve got that from the liar-in-chief himself. Do you want to believe him this one time? Trump wants what he wants and everyone and everything else be damned.

We can elect someone who will be more fiscally responsible than Trump, someone who wants to help everyday people, and someone who has been honest with us. That person is Kamala Harris. CRFB believes that the possibility exists that Harris’s plans could add nothing or very little to the deficit depending on her tax plans, which they believe could generate up to $4 trillion. This sounds like a much better deal for the American people and those who come behind us.
