Roger Stone’s indictment means imminent legal trouble for a certain Republican Congressman

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. So much else has happened in the Trump-Russia scandal in the past six months, it’s almost been forgotten. But back in July of last year, when the Feds indicted a dozen Russian hackers, the filing accused them of having passed stolen Democratic Party emails to an unnamed Trump associate and an unnamed 2016 candidate for U.S. Congress. That put a whole lot of focus on a certain Republican member of Congress.

Roger Stone promptly admitted he was the unnamed Trump associate in question, but there were all kinds of theories about the identity of the congressional candidate in question. Almost immediately after the indictment became public, Donald Trump took time out from his overseas trip to post this on Twitter: “Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is one of the finest and most talented people in Congress.” It led a whole lot of people to wonder if Trump had just outed Gaetz as the congressional candidate in question. This in turn led to the discovery of Matt Gaetz’s tweet from a year earlier, in which he bragged that he’d just had dinner with Roger Stone.

This was all circumstantial, and to this day, there is no publicly available proof that the unnamed congressional candidate is Matt Gaetz or anyone else. And of course by now most of the public has forgotten about this matter entirely. But the indictment of Roger Stone is clearly aimed at establishing a criminal conspiracy between him, WikiLeaks, and everyone who was in on it with him. They’re all going to be indicted.

There is every reason to believe that the 2016 congressional candidate in question ended up winning, or else the person would have been indicted a long time ago. Mueller’s only reason for waiting would be that there’s a right strategic time to start picking off the sitting members of Congress who were in on the conspiracy. So there’s someone in Congress right now, whether it be Matt Gaetz or someone else, who’s on the verge of being indicted now that Stone has been nabbed. It’s time for that person to panic.
