Donald Trump can’t handle what just happened to him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump was already behind Joe Biden in every national poll before he negligently and corruptly created the coronavirus crisis in the United States. Trump has recently seen his numbers fall to the point that he’s behind Biden in every single swing state, plus the reddish state of Arizona. Now Trump has gotten even worse news.

Bernie Sanders dropped out of the 2020 race today. Joe Biden was going to be the Democratic nominee anyway, as he was winning the primary in a blowout. But now Biden gets a four month head start on the general election. That’s bad news for Trump – and he’s already showing that he can’t handle the news.

Moments after Sanders dropped out, Trump posted a series of bizarre tweets about everyone from Elizabeth Warren to AOC, in a bizarrely incoherent attempt at scandalizing Sanders’ exit. Then during his coronavirus crisis press conference today, Trump started fantasizing out loud about how Sanders’ far left supporters are somehow going to vote for Trump’s far right campaign.

Donald Trump clearly didn’t see this coming. He had no response or strategy lined up whatsoever when the news came down today. Trump’s best hope was that Sanders bitterly stayed in the race all the way to the convention. Now we know that Trump was merely hoping this would happen, and didn’t prepare for the possibility that Sanders would drop out this soon. Trump is flailing, in every way possible. If we properly unite behind Biden, we can beat Trump and put an end to this madness.
