Joe Biden is clearly on track to win. Here’s why the race hasn’t been called for him yet.
Joe Biden has closed to within 26,000 votes in Pennsylvania. Based on the number and nature of the outstanding votes, there is no longer any mathematical doubt that Biden will win Pennsylvania. In fact he’ll likely win it by 100,000 votes or more. So why haven’t the news outlets called Pennsylvania for Biden yet?
Keep in mind that when the media calls Pennsylvania for Biden, it will put him over 270 electoral votes, and he will be named the winner of the 2020 election. It’ll all be over. I would guess that the major media outlets don’t want to take heat for calling the election for Biden based on calling a state for him that he’s not currently ahead in.
I’m not sure I blame the media for this. In fact it may be for the best. Donald Trump’s “but I secretly won” narrative isn’t getting him anywhere. But if Joe Biden is named the next President of the United States based on a state that he’s not even currently leading in, it’ll give Trump a new narrative to work with.
If it takes a few more hours for Joe Biden to pull ahead in Pennsylvania before the media calls the race for him, that’s a small price to pay in order to help make sure that Trump’s “conspiracy” argument continues to fall on deaf ears.
What’s sad is that the media would have to work around the sitting President of the United States on something like this, because he’s just that much of an unstable criminal.
