Donald Trump gives cabinet position to Dr. Ronny Jackson, who claimed Trump only weighed 239 pounds
After weeks of scattered reports that Donald Trump was looking to replace his own handpicked Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, sure enough, Trump announced on Twitter just now that Shulkin has indeed been fired. That’s not surprising. However, Trump’s replacement for VA Secretary is nothing short of stunning: Ronny Jackson. If you’re trying to place the name, we’ll give you a hint: 239 pounds.
Trump just tweeted “I am pleased to announce that I intend to nominate highly respected Admiral Ronny L. Jackson, MD, as the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs. In the interim, Hon. Robert Wilkie of DOD will serve as Acting Secretary. I am thankful for Dr. David Shulkin’s service to our country and to our GREAT VETERANS!” Ronny Jackson is Trump’s personal military physician, who recently gave him a physical and comically announced that Trump somehow only weighed 239 pounds. Jackson also infamously declared Trump to be mentally fit after giving him a cognitive test which asked him to correctly identify a picture of a rhinoceros.
Trump’s ballooning weight is the least of the nation’s problems, and arguably none of our business, beyond his physical fitness for office. But he visibly weighs far more than 239 pounds, which means that Dr. Ronny Jackson flat out lied in his medical report about Trump, which is unethical and scandalous. We’ve long wondered why a respected military doctor and Admiral was willing to tell such an obvious and embarrassing lie on Trump’s behalf. Now it appears we have our answer.
We’re calling for an immediate criminal investigation into whether Donald Trump explicitly offered the VA Secretary position to Dr. Ronny Jackson in exchange for Jackson’s willingness to lie in Trump’s official medical report. This isn’t about Trump’s weight. This is about corruption, bribery, and lying to the American public. Also, this means Trump has fired yet another top official via tweet.
