BUSTED: Donald Trump caught in huge British Open corruption scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There’s no financial con that Donald Trump won’t try. And since he illegitimately took office, there’s no financial con that he won’t try to pull off by abusing the power of the presidency. Now Trump has been caught in one of his ugliest financial corruption scandals yet – this one involving the British Open.

Donald Trump asked Woody Johnson, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, to use his office to try to steer the British Open to Trump’s golf course in Scotland, according to a surreal new expose from the New York Times tonight. Two things stand out here. First, like so many of Trump’s schemes, this one failed.

Second, while the fatalists will once again scream that “Trump is getting away with it all,” that’s not the case. Trump’s corrupt antics have left him with poll numbers so bad that he’s currently on track to lose the election in a blowout. And we know that Trump is headed to prison if he loses the election, thanks to the New York grand jury that’s targeting him for indictment and has already won the right to see his tax returns.

So no, Trump isn’t “getting away” with anything. He’s been busted in yet another ugly scandal which will only serve to increase the odds that he loses the election, and thus increase the odds that he’ll spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement. Trump’s real problem is that he just can’t help himself. His life is over if he loses the election, and yet he keeps running petty con games that are helping to ensure that his life is indeed over.
