Donald Trump’s stupidity has become a broken record
Remember back when Donald Trump randomly and falsely accused President Obama of having spied on his campaign? Remember when Trump made up an imaginary new caravan of immigrants? Remember all the way back when Trump threatened to close the border and send in the military? Actually, that all happened this morning.
Welcome to Donald Trump’s version of Groundhog Day. His frantic frustration over what’s about to happen to him, which has reached peak levels in the days since he figured out just how bad the Mueller report is for him, has now bubbled over in a manner that’s weird even for him. Not only is he trotting out his idiotic greatest hits, he’s doing it in bizarrely predictable fashion. Trump has turned into a broken record of stupidity. Yet he’s added a few new flourishes of idiocy today that are worth paying attention to.
For instance, Trump has become completely consumed with the notion that he’s going to be impeached. He’s helping to turn that into a self fulfilling prophecy, of course, by trying to obstruct Congress from doing its due diligence in the Mueller probe. That’s right, Trump is trying to convince everyone that he’s innocent of obstruction of justice, by committing more obstruction of justice.
The kicker, though, is that Donald Trump doesn’t seem to understand how anything works. This morning he tweeted that “If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court.” Wait, what? That’s not even close to how impeachment works. If Trump even tried something so stupid, the Supreme Court would just give him the finger, unless his buddy Brett Kavanaugh is somehow allowed to cast five votes all on his own. Trump doesn’t even understand what he’s threatening to do anymore.
