Some Palmer Report readers have been asking why we haven’t been writing much about Ivanka Trump of late. The simple answer: she’s largely been laying low, and the various scandals surrounding her haven’t had recent developments. However, that all just changed rather radically, thanks to a brand new Ivanka Trump scandal, and it involves a respected public figure accusing Ivanka of having tried to offer her a “bribe.”

Cecile Richards, the head of Planned Parenthood, has long been a prominent political figure, and she’s become even more prominent since Trump took office and began threatening women’s rights. Now Richards has published a new book titled “Make Trouble: Standing Up, Speaking Out, and Finding the Courage to Lead–My Life Story.” In the book, she reveals that shortly after Trump stole the election, she took a meeting with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in the hope of convincing them to help protect Planned Parenthood.

During that meeting, Ivanka and Kushner offered to increase federal funding for Planned Parenthood if it cut off access to abortion. Richards refused the offer, and stated in her book that it felt like a “bribe” to her. Richards says she was so skeptical of the meeting that she took her husband along with her as a “witness” in case things went south, and sure enough, her instincts proved to be correct.

This reveals a few things. First, Cecile Richards is a woman of principle, as she was unwilling to sell out women’s rights in order to boost her organization’s financial bottom line. Second, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were so desperate for a political win, even early on, that they were willing to offer federal funding as bribe money to an organization that Donald Trump’s base despises. Finally, Ivanka is clearly just as bad at negotiating deals as her father is. Cecile Richards’ new book can be found here.
