Brian Kemp fires back after Donald Trump throws him under the bus

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Donald Trump has spent weeks publicly urging Republican Governors to reopen their states during a pandemic, under the belief that restarting the economy is Trump’s only shot at reelection. Now that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has loyally done what Trump wanted, Trump threw him under the bus during today’s press briefing. Now Brian Kemp is firing back on Twitter:

“Earlier today, I discussed Georgia’s plan to reopen shuttered businesses for limited operations with @POTUS. I appreciate his bold leadership and insight during these difficult times and the framework provided by the White House to safely move states forward. Our next measured step is driven by data and guided by state public health officials. We will continue with this approach to protect the lives – and livelihoods – of all Georgians. Just like the thousands of businesses currently operating throughout Georgia, I am confident that business owners who decide to reopen will adhere to Minimum Basic Operations, which prioritize the health and well-being of employees and customers.”

It’s almost fun watching Brian Kemp twisting himself into a pretzel while trying to insist that he’s right and Donald Trump is wrong, without actually taking a stand against Trump. We always knew that Trump would eventually end up throwing his loyalists under the bus. How did Kemp not see this coming?
