Bob Woodward’s new book reveals Donald Trump is even more of an unstable idiot than we thought
Donald Trump has recently been hurling personal attacks at Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame, but it turns out Trump should probably have been paying more attention to the other half of Woodward and Bernstein. Details are surfacing from Bob Woodward’s new insider book about the Trump administration, and while no one was expecting the incompetent and unstable Trump to come off looking particularly good, some of these revelations are nothing short of jaw dropping.
Just how bad are things inside Donald Trump’s White House? His aides think he’s so dangerously deranged, they’ve been conspiring to steal paperwork from his desk so he couldn’t sign it. Trump doesn’t even understand why the United States has a military presence in South Korea, and he once tried to order the assassination of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad without understanding the consequences of such a move. But the real fallout here may be from what Trump’s own top people think of him.
Donald Trump’s White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, who has reportedly been on the verge of getting fired for as long as he’s had the job, thinks that Trump is an “idiot” who lives in “Crazytown.” Palmer Report has referred to Trump as “unhinged” perhaps one too many times over the past year and a half, but it turns out General Kelly also thinks Trump is “unhinged.” Trump’s Secretary of Defense James Mattis thinks Trump has the intellect of a “fifth or sixth grader” and he’s worried that Trump is going to start “World War III.” Keep in mind that these are Trump’s own handpicked people.
This information is coming from Bob Woodward, the guy who took down Richard Nixon, so it’s fair to conclude that this is all legitimately sourced. John Kelly may have said it best: “I don’t even know why any of us are here.” The Woodward-connected Washington Post has more details from his new book, which you can buy here.
