Last night we learned something fascinating. Not only did far-right conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi announce that he’s been told he’s days away from being indicted by Robert Mueller, he also revealed that Mueller questioned him specifically about a trip he took to Italy during the 2016 election cycle. Why? As it turns out, Michael Cohen was also in Italy during the election – and even as Corsi was making his announcement, Cohen suddenly arrived in Washington DC.

We don’t know why Michael Cohen is in Washington right now. ABC News is calling the trip “mysterious.” But considering the extent to which Cohen has been cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, it’s difficult to imagine that this visit isn’t related to Mueller. This comes even as NBC News points out that Cohen was in Italy during the brief window between the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians and the Republican National Convention.

Jerome Corsi says he’s about to be indicted for perjury. That particular charge only tends to stick if another witness can bring evidence and testimony that easily proves that the perjury was committed in bad faith. So the obvious question is whether Michael Cohen has traveled to Washington DC to testify to a grand jury that he knows Corsi committed perjury – and if so, whether it has something to do with the fact that they both went to Italy during the election.

Right now there’s no way to know the answer to that question. But if the Italy thing, the Jerome Corsi thing, and Michael Cohen’s sudden arrival in Washington are all tied together, then it would seem that Cohen is blowing the lid off the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy. In any case, something big is going on here.
