Donald Trump’s ouster of Mick Mulvaney is even more bizarre than we thought
The President of the United States, who hadn’t had a White House Chief of Staff in fourteen months, just fired his Acting White House Chief of Staff via tweet, and announced he was shipping him off to Northern Ireland, but didn’t even bother to explain why he’s doing it.
He didn’t specify whether or not the departing Acting White House Chief of Staff, who was also the Director of the Office of Management and Budget for the entire time he was the Acting White House Chief of Staff, is still the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. It’s possible the OMB is now being run by no one. It’s also possible the President will announce tomorrow that the new Director of the OMB is Carrot Top, or Jack the Ripper. At this point nothing would be shocking.
