Donald Trump’s bizarre new lie about Melania Trump heightens the mystery of her ongoing vanishing act
Where’s Melania Trump? She’s now standing in a White House window looking out at everyone but she’s invisible, according to her husband. No, really. The mystery of Melania’s disappearance, which has now been going on for two weeks and has become more suspicious by the day, just became even more suspicious because Donald Trump decided to open his mouth and tell yet another of his bizarre lies.
“She’s doing great. She’s looking at us right there,” Donald Trump told a group of reporters. They all looked at the window, and confirmed that Melania was definitely not looking out the window at them. This sounds like something out of The Onion, but it’s actually from the Washington Post. Apparently Trump thought he could use some kind of mind control to convince reporters that they were seeing Melania when they weren’t.
Whatever has been going on with Melania Trump’s health and well being, it’s been the kind of thing that the White House can’t tell us about, and it’s known from the start that it would need to dance around. It’s why we were told up front that she was going into the hospital for multiple days to have a kidney procedure that wouldn’t normally require that lengthy of a stay. It’s why, last weekend, when the length of her disappearance had become ridiculous, the White House began refusing to tell reporters whether or not she was even still in the hospital.
The bottom line is this: the “First Lady” of the United States has been missing for two weeks, even as the (supposed) President of the United States and his handlers have told us one suspicious lie after another about where she is and why she’s vanished. If she were suffering from the kind of health issue that they could talk about, they’d just tell us. They’d even gain sympathy points. Instead, they’re covering something up here, and whatever it is, there’s an underhanded reason for it. That makes her ongoing vanishing act a liability to the public.
