Bill Barr just struck out big time
When Attorney General Bill Barr instructed U.S. Attorney John Durham to investigate the people who investigated Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, Palmer Report predicted with near certainty that nothing would come of it. Durham wasn’t going to find anything, because there wasn’t anything to find. And because Durham isn’t corrupt, he wasn’t going to be willing to manufacture something.
Now even Fox News is admitting that Durham has found nothing. Fox Business Channel reporter Maria Bartiromo, a pro-Trump propagandist, says that according to her sources, Durham will not issue any report before the election – and there will be no indictments. Well of course there will be no indictments; the people who investigated Donald Trump did nothing wrong, and Bill Barr isn’t even close to having enough muscle to criminally indict them without Durham’s consent.
So this puts an end to Bill Barr’s latest corrupt scheme. As usual, Barr has struck out. That doesn’t mean he won’t try again with something else. But Barr’s track record is laughably weak; he also failed in his attempts at meddling in the Flynn, Stone, Cohen, Lev, Igor, and Bannon cases.
When Bill Barr suddenly ordered Durham to launch a dead-end investigation into the Clinton Foundation earlier this week, Palmer Report pointed out that this almost certainly meant Durham had found nothing in his probe of the Trump-Russia investigation. Sure enough, we now have confirmation of this. Barr is clearly sending Durham on another goose chase just to keep Trump sated, and Trump is clearly too far gone to realize Barr is just playing him.
