Bill Barr is finished

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr had a good run when it came to criminally obstructing justice and getting away with it, from burying the Mueller Report to killing off the SDNY investigation. But that run of success is over, and Barr has just become a huge liability for Trump. In fact it’s now very difficult to see how Barr doesn’t end up in prison.

The Trump regime released a summary today – which is definitely not a full transcript – of Donald Trump’s phone call with the president of Ukraine. Not only is it a smoking gun that directly incriminates Trump, it also reveals that Trump asked the president of Ukraine to work with Bill Barr to conspire against Joe Biden.

This alone means that Bill Barr is neutered going forward. He can’t possibly be effective in trying to cover up Donald Trump’s crimes, now that we know Barr is a key suspect. Leading Democrats have already begun calling for Barr to recuse himself, and that alone should strike fear into the heart of Barr, if he has one. But there’s more.

This morning we all learned that Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson referred a criminal complaint against Donald Trump to the Department of Justice last month. If Bill Barr stepped in and blocked this criminal complaint from being investigated – and we all pretty much know that he did – then that’s felony obstruction of justice. There’s just no way Barr survives this. He’s finished.
