Here comes the big Bill Barr subpoena

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As we noted earlier this evening, Attorney General Bill Barr keeps making evil moves that increasingly aren’t working for him. It’s left him largely playing defense, as he tries to clean up his own messes. Perhaps sensing an opportunity, the House Judiciary Committee has decided to take its big swing at him.

This evening, Axios reported that the House Judiciary Committee has decided to subpoena Bill Barr to testify about his mounting scandals. At nearly the exact same time, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler appeared on the Rachel Maddow show and stated that if Barr defies the subpoena, the House is prepared to cut off Department of Justice funding until Barr appears.

It’s worth keeping in mind that Bill Barr has shown up and testified on the hill in the past, so he’s apparently arrogant enough to think he can outsmart committee members when they question him. We’ll see if Barr shows up this time, or if he sits back and allows the DOJ’s funding to get cut off, out of fear of testifying.
