BIG MISTAKE

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump, hemorrhaging support in the polls, fresh out of ideas, and looking to stop the bleeding, has decided upon a new desperation move that has little chance of working out in his favor. Of course that’s true of all desperation moves in general, but this is one will go down as a particularly big mistake.

Trump has agreed to do a Sunday morning interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace. Wait a minute, you say, isn’t Trump on Fox all the time? Sure, but he likes to do interviews with sycophant propagandists like Sean Hannity. In sharp contrast, Wallace is the one real journalist on Fox News – and he’s a particularly tough interviewer.

We’ve seen various dishonest Trump underlings sit down with Chris Wallace and live to regret it – and none of them were suffering from the cognitive decline that tends to lead Trump off the rails even when he’s being interviewed by one of his own puppets.

We’re left to wonder if Donald Trump will even show up for his interview with Chris Wallace. Then again, Trump is so far gone at this point, he probably isn’t even aware of how poorly his recent media appearances have been going for him. And there’s really no one around Trump who is willing or able to talk him out of these self-inflicting mistakes he’s making.
