Big loss for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The loser of the United States, Donald Trump, as Palmer Report laid out, has been held in contempt of court. Isn’t it great? The madman will be fined $10,000 each day for failure to produce the relevant records. Trump’s lawyer meanwhile declared this was a “political crusade.”

It is not a political crusade. It is the courts treating Trump like what he IS — just another member of the unwashed masses.

Just another person — not “better,” not “all-powerful,” just another human — an unhinged one to be sure, but nobody special.

And things will only get worse for him.

This has been — this past week — possibly the worst week in recent history for Trump. His whole life is imploding.

Just think about what has happened in the last seven days or so. It has been a conveyor belt of scandals for the lord of the lies.

It is karma busily at work. And now the GOP is going to be even more uncomfortable. Why is that? Because each Republican will be asked about it. Of course, they will. What will they do? Who will further reveal their dark side?

The dark side of human nature has been immortalized since the beginning of time. There is a hauntingly lovely and precise quote. It’s by Mark Twain: “Everyone is a moon and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.”

See, I believe this quote symbolizes Trumpism perfectly. The darkness was already prevalent. Trump gave those with the deepest, darkest sides permission TO show it — to everybody and anybody.

This is going to be a real test for the GOP. I believe Twain’s quote is accurate. Everybody may have varying degrees of darkness. What we will be finding out in the months to come — is whose darkness is all-encompassing.

Not all republicans are insurrectionists. Liz Cheney isn’t. Adam Kinzinger isn’t. Heck, I don’t like him, but Mike Pence isn’t. They respect and abide by the Constitution.

But the January 6 hearings are coming up. More tapes will soon be heard. Trump has just been held in Contempt. The GOP has much to answer for. The question is: will they let their darkness do the answering?
