Joe Biden is about to have a very big day today
Last night, Donald Trump showed us how it’s not done. He spent ten minutes giving a primetime Oval Office address in which he came off as clueless, lifeless, and hopeless. He also made so many confusing and incorrect statements about the coronavirus response he was rolling out, the White House had to spend the night issuing corrections and clarifications. This brings us to today, and to Joe Biden.
Joe Biden has announced that at 1:00pm eastern time today, he’ll be giving his own televised address about the coronavirus crisis. This is a big deal, for two reasons. One, with Trump having utterly failed to show any leadership last night, Americans will now be looking to Biden for contrast. Can he come off as presidential, at a time when he’s running for president?
Second, what does he have up his sleeve? Joe Biden doesn’t currently hold office. He doesn’t have any power over the government. He can’t simply give orders and fix the problems that Trump has created when it comes to the federal government’s response. So what is he going to roll out?
It’s worth pointing out that we keep seeing headlines about Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and others trying to figure out how to work around the Trump regime’s failures and get Americans the testing kits and medical treatment they need. Let’s just say it’ll be interesting when Joe Biden takes the stage today.
