Big boost for Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Wednesday, President Biden secured one of the biggest endorsements of his campaign, and in a key state that he’ll need to win in 2024. The United Auto Workers (UAW) Union endorsed him for re-election, a move that was fairly inevitable after the president made history in crossing the picket line and securing a successful deal between UAW and Detroit’s Big 3 Manufacturers. It’s a significant endorsement for President Biden to have in Michigan, which he’ll likely need to get to 270 electoral votes in November – and it’s come rather early in the election.

In his endorsement speech, Union President Shawn Fain laid out a fairly compelling case for President Biden’s re-election bid: “This November, we can stand up and elect someone who stands with us…or we can elect someone who will divide us and fight us every step of the way.” Fain reminded his audience that when workers protested against General Motors in 2019, Trump wasn’t on their side.

By contrast, we are currently living under the most pro-labor administration in history, which is why we’ve seen one successful strike after another, despite the challenges that 21st century technology presents. As 2024 kicks off, we’ve already got a sizable ground game in the states we need to win. It’s time to get onboard and help get President Biden re-elected on Nov 5!
