Biden pulls ahead of Trump in key swing state, even as the media hyperventilates about nonsense
The first debate, in which a physically ill Biden and an unusually coherent Trump came off equally bad, was never going to have any material impact on the 2024 election one way or the other. But the media saw an opportunity to chase ratings by pretending that Biden was in huge trouble, and then manufactured a fictional story about the Democrats forcing him out of the race.
The kicker is that since the debate, various polls have said that the race hasn’t changed much. For every poll that’s shown Trump gaining since the debate, there’s been a poll that’s shown Biden gaining since the debate. And now, in the Decision Desk polling average, Biden has pulled ahead of Trump in the key swing state of Wisconsin by 0.1 points. Yes that’s right, Biden has moved ahead in Wisconsin since the debate.
This isn’t surprising. Biden was quietly and incrementally pulling ahead in various polls before the debate. And for all the hyperventilating by the media, out in the real world the debate didn’t really have an impact. So it makes sense that Biden would still be inching ahead.
As always, every poll these days has to be taken with a large heaping of salt. But if Biden is still doing okay in the polls after the debate, then what is the media even basing its claims on when it says Biden is non-viable? I’ll give you a hint: they’re just making it up.
