Joe Biden just confirmed Beto O’Rourke will be a part of his administration

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Earlier today Joe Biden told a Houston CBS affiliate that if he becomes President, he’s planning to ask Pete Buttigieg to play a role in his administration. Biden didn’t expand on what position(s) he was specifically talking about. But tonight Biden was more specific when he confirmed during his rally that Beto O’Rourke will also play a role in his administration.

During the televised rally tonight, Joe Biden said this to Beto O’Rourke: “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me, you’re going to be the one who leads this effort.” This isn’t surprising, considering Beto spent the latter part of his own 2020 presidential campaign focusing heavily on gun violence.

There are various cabinet positions that have potential oversight in the gun violence crisis, for instance Health and Human Services. Biden could also simply appoint O’Rourke as a gun violence czar, allowing him to focus solely on the one issue, without the burden of having to oversee an entire agency.

The upshot is that Joe Biden is clearly lining up a team of all-stars for his administration. He’s going to make Beto and Mayor Pete part of his administration. Amy Klobuchar may not be inclined to leave her powerful Senate seat to become a cabinet member, but Biden will probably make the offer anyway. Biden is clearly looking to put together a unity ticket to defeat Donald Trump and bring the nation together.
