Beto O’Rourke just nailed it
As gubernatorial candidate for Texas, Beto O’Rourke, was speaking at a town hall; he was interrupted. The person doing the interrupting was a man who self-identified as a preacher. And he was armed to the teeth. The man made no threats. But he did have a question for Beto: Are you pro-choice? Don’t you know that there are “great men” who are the product of rape?
And so it goes that with their vicious take-down of Roe, the extreme court has unleashed the crazies. Beto, to his credit, was perfectly polite to the man, even thanking him for asking the question “in good faith.”
Beto answered that these types of decisions are best made “by the woman, who understands better than anyone else, the nature of her pregnancy.” Answered with class, Beto. This doesn’t change the fact that many extremists are walking around, and the decision on Roe seems to have encouraged them to make themselves known.
It’s important that we work our tails off until November. As to Beto, he is doing well, breaking fundraising records and drawing a full house no matter where he chooses to speak. No debate has been set up between him and Abbott at the time of this writing. Want to bet one never is?
I simply do not believe Abbott will ever have the guts to face down a good man like Beto who, with a few well-chosen words, could expose the slimy Governor for all to see. In the meantime, Beto needs our help to win this November. It seems the polls in this race are getting closer every day. Let’s make it a wipe-out and get rid of the no-good Abbott from politics once and for all.
