Beto O’Rourke comes out swinging after Greg Abbott’s political stunt backfires

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

What is the definition of stupid? I can answer that one in two words. Greg Abbott. The Texas Governor needs to be given an award for worst politician ever. I think that reward should be a pink slip.

So, as you know, Abbott tried a political stunt by jamming up traffic for truck drivers on the border. He did this by ordering needless inspections of these trucks, which carried much food. This stunt caused massive traffic jams and caused millions of dollars worth of food to spoil.

Abbott was forced to end his political stunt after it backfired, and people blamed him as they should have.

And Abbott’s stunningly stupid political stunt has had severe repercussions. Costs for certain items have skyrocketed, and many buyers have not received their produce and other items.

There are now massive delays in getting these items into the hands of those who need them — all because of Abbott.

“This is destroying our business!” These words came from Dante L. Galeazzi CEO of the Texas International Produce Association.

Beto O’Rourke called this ” a very expensive stunt.” And it was. Perhaps that explains why Beto’s poll numbers are swiftly moving upward.

Almost a quarter of a billion dollars worth of fresh fruit and vegetables were lost. And many think Abbott needs to pay financially for these losses. And they’re not being shy about telling him:

“Abbott is now the key driver of inflation,” said one Twitter user.

“All I see are empty fruit shelves. That is the direct fault of Greg Abbott,” tweeted another.

“You spoiled the food. You should pay for it,” said still another.

So many congratulations to Greg Abbott, whose run-away ego has succeeded in attempting one of the worst political stunts in the history of political stunts. Let’s give him that pink slip in November.
